So I went back to the dctr today ..nd she told me tht I have hight risk hpv??.she ddnt even chek me again..she just told me to go bak in 6 months for another papsmear..should I worry for my life and is this going to cause me cervical cancer or anything worse???
to cervical cancer, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it will. In fact, your doctor is probably just waiting for it to go away. I found out that I had a high risk HPV a year ago and while I'm still waiting for it to go away, I have not had cervical cancer. If you continue to get regular paps
was still abnormal so they preformed another one. Since then I have had normal paps, each time. As long as you are checked routinely and you do what you have to in order to prevent the cancer, it shouldnt be harm. Also, if you were to get cervical cancer, its not going to eat you up and kill you right away, especially if your doc is concious of your HPV and keeps you checked. I know a lady who just found out she had cervical cancer, wasnt even aware she had HPV due to lack of pap smears and they had to do a hysterectomy on her. I also know another lady who found she had cervical cancer and they just took that portion of the cervix out... She was still able to have 2 healthy children. So dont fret, you will be ok. Just make to sure keep up with your pap smears
U dnt know how much ur comment has helped me...since I found out I have hpv that's all I think about.nobody knows I dnt want to tell my mom because we had an argument and she's not talking to me I feel like crying all the time...ok so even if cancer develops that doesn't mean ur going to die?...and if ur sexually active can you still have a normal sex life??
you have to educate yourself. Go google all information about HPV.
50-80% of sexually active people have HPV and there are a lot of them who clearly have high risk HPV strains. Most people who have this kind of HPV, however, will clear up their own HPV infections within 1-2 years.
Basically 90% of women can clear up their own HPV infections within 2 years and can live normally again after. It doesn't mean the rest 10% will get cervical cancer, most of them will still get cleared up but they need 3-5 years or even 6. Only few people, in the end, get cervical cancer from HPV.
What you can do is to STOP excessively drink, STOP smoking, and try to enhance your immune system all the time. People often drink vitamin supplement and all that but if you have time to go to market and buy things by yourself, i would suggest you to buy natural foods. It's always better. Just google around which food is good for your antibody etc.
So to answer your question, you don't have to feel down. Just wait for a year and get another pap smear test. If it's still come back abnormal, you can wait for another year. I am convinced you will be cleared in the end.
While it's still possible to be sexually active while your HPV is still active, i highly suggest you to stop having sex until your HPV tests come back in your favor. It means that maybe you need to wait for 1-2 years before enganging in any sexual activity anymore. By doing so, you shouldnt be contagious to anyone.
