how to know if its hpv gentital wart or a skin tag?

Ok, about a month ago i found a small tiny bump like about 1/16 of an inch big right on the skin betwen the anus and the vulva, exactly the part the the labia majora is on the lower part (where the skin is all wrinkled) i went to the planned parentood so they could make me a pelvic test and the lady said that the bump CAN be a skin tag, or a wart. and she couldnt tell me what was for sure. she asked me if i touched it and i did, she told me i had a skin tag and asked me to touch them and compare their textures, but the thing is that my actual skin tag is too big compared to the bump down there. to be honest the texture doesnt feel much different, but i cant tel since the vulva pump is too small and its looking like a little ball atached to the skin. and my skin tag is different is shape and size. she tried to make a pap smear but since i was on my last day of my period she couldnt due to the  blood, so in fact she couldnt even tell me if i had something indide ofmy vagina. PLEASE any expert on this tell me how both things are different.

It's very difficult to distinguish between wart and skin tag because they are so similar. The only significant difference is that when tested a skin tag would have no HPV DNA and a wart would. You could go to a different Dr, maybe one specializing in skin conditions, tell them the nurse wasn't very convincing in her diagnosis and if possible could you have the bump biopsied.

Seeing as you already have a skin tag on another part of your body, a skin tag is a likely possibility. However that much is true for warts if you've ever had sex or sexual contact.

Also even though your skin tag was different to your bump down there, that isn't definite evidence against it being a skin tag because they can alter in appearance and texture.
