hpv oral sex question

have read other questions about hpv but I am still worried and am not sure the answers had answered what i am worried about. I am a lesbian. My ex who i have not had oral sex with in about 3 year was diagnosed with hpv and cerical cancer about a month after we broke up (so she had it when we were together). I have had normal pap smears since then. My question is with contracting it orally- would it have shown up on the pap smear if i had contracted hpv through my mouth? i am reading all this stuff on oral sex and hpv and throat cancers and needless to say i am freaking out a bit. Does a normal pap smear mean im ok? or do i need to get a specific test done for some "mouth hpv"???

Yes, a normal pap smear means you are OK but that doesn't mean you can discontinue your paps... Oral to genital or genital to oral transmission is extremely rare... There is no specific test for hpv in mouth... a dentist or ENT specialist may have a look and if find any lesion may get that biopsed to see what that is...
