hpv quetion

If papsmear comes back clear whats the likely hood of spreading hpv to male partner? Also would condom be enough protection? Could this be transferred through oral sex as well?

if u have a clean pap u don't have hpv!what u need 2 b concerned about is male giving u hpv!Condoms reduce the risk of transmission acc to the docs in the Experts forum std's 60-90%.....and oral hpv is rare...mainly a genital thing.

ok if pap came back abnormal few years ago and removed them from cervix does that mean that hpv will lie dormant and it can be passed on to male partners even though pap comes back normal now? or is hpv gone?

there are about 40 some strains of hpv that affect cervix.if u get one clear it pap clean it lies dormant and u cannot catch same strain.U cannot pass that on2 another partner..but ur concern should be what strains of hpv virus males will pass to u...they r the carriers of this primarily...not u!go to www.ashastd.org for reliable info.on hpv.

ok so if hpv is dormant then it cannot be passed onto partner? Im just basing this on genital herpes where the virus is dormant at times but is always in your body and can be passed on. Just want to here a hard yes or no whether hpv can be passed on to male if it is dormant in womans body. thanks

answer is no according to what i've read..if its dormant its dormant...genital herpes different class of a virus.what a hellish virus!

a.virus is stored in the body....asleep...pap says not on cervix.b.Unknown at this point.c.According to the doctors unlikely and presently unknown.d.Once u have high risk the virus is stored in body......use myself as xample.Had high risk HPV,A LEEPsurgery and three follow-up paps have shown it not to be on my cervix.I'm gonna have #4 8-25  if this one is clear then i can go a year tween paps.
