depends on what you consider sex (anal or oral count as sexual contact.. penetration isn't necessary for transmission...genital/skin need to come in contact) HPV is a skin(the penis,anus, and the outside of the vagina/vulva..external of the genital area) and mucous(internal of genital areas/anus) virus.

It is possible to be a virgin and have HPV (low/warts or high/increased risk of certain cancers risk). There are over 100 strains of the virus. There is currently NO test for males and females need to have a HPV test (requested depending on their age and/or the outcome of their PAP).
