hpv?

by babygirl930, Feb 07, 2009 08:40PM
I went to the Gyno for a yeast infection and she did my pap at the sametime. She called me about a week later to tell me that my pap was normal but i have high risk hpv and to come back in 6 months for a re check. My question is could the hpv test come out wrong due to the yeast infection?I have never had an abnormal pap before. Thank you.

I don't know for certain, but I would be surprised if a yeast infection influenced the results. If this was a possibility, I think your doctor would have considered it.

Go back for you test in 6 months. Many people clear the virus in a short period of time. With luck, you may be HPV free then.
