I agree. I have read that most people with HPV will still have a normal PAP. The HPV test is usually recommended for women over the age of thirty (because the majority of young people will clear the virus before any problems) but it is available to everyone.
The hpv test only screens for high risk not low risk aka genital warts in woman.
It is my understanding that the hpv virus may cause changes in the cells of your cervix. I do believe it is possible to have hpv even though your pap produces normal results. Additionally, there are tests specifically for hpv and will detect the presence of the virus even when a pap does not. Next time you get your pap, you may want to inquire about it with your doctor.

Meant to say that PAPs test for symptoms.
You could have HPV which tests for symptoms of cervical infections, not for the virus itself.
PAPs would detect changes long before they lead to cancer. If your PAPs are normal, you have little to worry about.
