molluscum contagious, genital wart, or possibly skin tag?

I have a single growth at the very top of my pubic hair a few inches below my belly button, it is a slightly raised perfectly circular, flesh colored flat bump and does not cause any pain or discomfort besides making me very self conscious. It started out about a month and a half to two months ago as a small bump.  thinking it was a pimple, i picked at it a few times and it grew and became slightly raised.  Becoming scared of what this may be, i started looking up images and information about genital warts but it does not look like one at all and in my research i found that genital warts tend to form on the penis, scrotum, and around the anus and i have none of those. I had a steady girlfriend for over a year but the growth showed up about 5 months after we broke up and i had not been with anyone since.  I have had no other bumps anywhere else, just a single one at the top of the pubic hair.  I am confused as to what this may be and my best guess would be molluscum, although i don't know if it could be because i only have one growth and i read that there are usually multiple ones.  Being that this is a sensitive subject i do not want to go to a family doctor or have to get my parents involved for they would be extremely disappointed.  I understand that since you can not see it, you could not know exactly what it is; however, from my description above what do you think it probably is? i have thought anything from wart, to ingrown hair, to molluscum, to skin tag but it looks closest to molluscum although it is not very indented in the middle. I have not picked at it since the first couple weeks and it is starting to become less raised recently so i am thinking it is healing although i am not positive. Please ask any questions that would help describe it in a better way if that would help you understand better if need be. Any help, suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated and would help put my mind at ease.
