so i know i have hpv (non-cancerous) and at the momment have a break out on my inner labias, and may have it orally (go to doctors on friday for a referal. i'm in the dating stage with a person i've been an aquaintance with for a few years. i told him about the hvp (he wanted to be intamite, i explained my aprehension), he told me he has hpv as well (being a carrier).
doesn't see anything wrong because we both have it. also if i have it orally, can it be transfered through open kissing or just through mouth to genital contact?
my obgyn has been little to no help with my questions.
as you then there is no need to worry because you both have it. if he has a another type then yes you can become infected with that type and visa versa.
do you know if you have it orally? if you were diagnosed an dyou know you do, there is a chance of transmittion but it is extremly low.
i'll ask him if he knows or what his symptoms are. as far as the oral, i'm goingto my pcp tomorrow for a referal, the obgyn thinks it might be hpv but it's not his specialty and he said i would need to see a eent doc. thanks for the advice.
I'd say def wait at least a bit to get a little more of a handle on the knowledge of what you are dealing with. HPV is really not a big deal but is inconvenient and so you could be saving yourself some headache just by chilling til after your doctor visit. If he gives you high risk HPV it could be tough on you emotionally/mentally down the road so keep that in mind. You may never know what strain
he had I'm afraid unless he has an outbreak right now and you can test the warts. Otherwise you'd have to go to a university that researches that kind of stuff and has his shaft scraped and all that and I'm pretty sure they don't do that kind of thing just because. Good luck.
