period while on bc pills

First, let me say i posted here because my area was full and themessage said post in another forum.

I am 20yrs old. i had been taking bc pills for about 2 years. about 2 months ago i decided not to take the pills any more. in December i started to go back on the pills. i had a period in december and my mom told me to start the pills on a sunday while i was still on my period but i miss understood here and i started the pills on a sunday but i was not on my period . about a week later i missed 2 days of pills. i took 3 pills. my period had started that morning and this is why i thought about the pills. the problem is that now my period still has not stopped. i have been taking the pills and my period has been on for 8 days. now i have stopped taking the pills starting today. i called the doctors nurse and she said it was because my harmones are off. she said to wait till i had another period and then start again on the sunday while my period was still on.

my question is .  when is my bleeding going to stop so i will know whne i am having a true periiod?
