Is there any chance she may not get it? (what are the chances or percentages of people who are exposed to the virus and end up not getting the virus themselves)

sweet thanks for the response. I honestly dont care that I have the warts to be honest I am just so owrried i gave it to my good girlfreind. Ive been sick to my stomach and have actually been crying for the past 2 days thinking about what i have done. I just pray that she didnt get it but I know theres a slight chnace of that possibility. Can someone please answer a few question i have.
1.) is it possible she wont get the virus? can people be exposed to the warts and not contract the virus or is she guaranteed to get it?
2.) Is it possible for "low risk"HPV (which i assume is the one that causes warts) to become "high risk" in someone else?
3.) will a person usually develop warts at some point if they come in contact with them or is possible to still have "low risk" HPV without developing warts?
Thank you so much for the response. I apologize for making it seem like Im a little baby crying about this but I just feel so bad I didnt know.
1) Warts are very contagious, but not every exposure is garunteed transmission. She should be informed of the risk so she can be on the look out for symptoms, and possibly see a doctor.
2) Low risk cannot become high risk. You are right that the strains that cause warts are low risk, but there is no garuntee that either of you do not have the high risk strain as well.
3) A good percentage of people who contract the virus that causes genital warts will not develop warts, or not notice them.
alexdelong: thank you so much for getting back to me that definitely helps answer some of my questions. Right now all I can do is pray to God that for some divine reason the virus was not transmitted. I have a question though for you or anyone else that may know the answer.
Will a pap test be able to identify if the HPV is low risk or high risk or just that it is HPV?
