some hpv questions..need answers plz

by eazyman, Sep 27, 2008 02:23AM
Hi All

I have just been diagnosed with hpv and had a few genital warts removed through laser...i know thats a repetitive question but what's the likelihood of return?

also i have a few other questions:

1) can i use meanwhile any cream to prevent warts from appearing when they r small and not visible to me?
2) whats the percentage of men with hpv and have warts?
3) is it advised that i dont have sex until i am "cured" no warts for 1 yr or 2? even with my current gf who was diagnosed b/c of me.
4) is it best to go to a dermatologist or a urologist ? i went to a dermatologist
5) whats best to have a stronger immune system? i am a smoker and on avg 2 drinks a day...i am trying to cut down on smoking.
6) is there a way to check body wide about warts? only visual? through doc?

I really wanna fight this virus out of me

thanks in advance for all your help

Answers below:
1) No and it's not required
2) No accurate values are available
3) Yes, you should wait if you want to have sex with someone other than your gf... one can not be reinfected with the same hpv strain and their is no ping pong or virus between partners, specially in monogamous relationship... Both of you should avoid having sex with each other if you are currently on treatment for warts on genital areas...
4) dermatologist
5) you are trying the good for good by cutting on smoke... for stronger immune, you should have the right and healthy diet, vitamins, fruits, plenty of sleep and good excercise...
6) yes
