, recently had mild cervical dysplasia (caused by HPV).
I have been reading a lot about HPV online, since my gynecologist was not very helpful in providing information; some of the things I have read have scared me.
I am thinking that I could also have contracted oral HPV. I also had oral relations with the person from whom I contracted genital HPV.
I would like to know if there is a way to test for oral HPV. I have heard there is a new OraRisksm HPV test. I have read on this forum that people had tests for oral HPV and know what strain
16 being the one likely to cause oral cancer). However, despite what I have read online I have not found information on what test I could use and who can provide it. What type of doctor should I talk to about this? My dentist? Gynecologist? Find an oncologist?
