treatment for hpv

i was diagnosed to have low risk or grade 1 hpv.  my doctor asks me what i wanted to do: remove the  cells by freezing it  or wait another 6 months to do another pap to see if it went away? what do you think is best? if i have it removed, i am being aggresive?  what are the after effects? is there a chance this would progress to cervical cancer? now that i have hpv, what would i do to manage this disease and not worsen it? my husband said he is faithful to me, until now i am terrified how i got this.  your response is highly appreciated. thank you very much.

I would also recommend that you wait the 6 month period. Many times HPV infections can go away on their own through the normal function of your own immune system. As mentioned before the leep procedure can cause many complications during childbirth, and not only that, but it does not guarantee that the cells will not return.

For the next 6 months, I wouldh help boost my immune system by supplementing and living a healthy life-style and re-take the pap test to see if the cells have healed.

Things you can do to boost your immune system include:

1. Increasing your folic acid intake and stop taking oral contraceptives which deplete your folic acid. Folic acid is essential for healthy cell function and it has been shown that those with low folic acid are more susceptible to HPV.

2. Stop smoking, for obvious reasons, as it adds toxins to your body.

3. Increase your vitamin C intake as this boosts the immune system and helps you fight disease.

I have a friend that was diagnosed with HPV that quickly progressed to cervical cancer and she didn't want to go through chemo so she tried everything natural on the market. She ended up taking a product called Papillex and her HPV symptoms were completely reversed. We all couldn't believe it since no one thinks it can be as easy as taking a few pills and changing your eating habits, but it happened.

Take a look at their website, www.papillex.com. It might help.

I would recommend waiting the 6 months.  See how it progresses.  It may go away on its own.  You do not want to do unnecessary treatment to your cervix.  Every time you do, it weakens your cervix and affects your ability to carry children.  I had a cervical leep.

There are possible after effects like chronic cervicitis.  I have this now.  I had no problem for 7 years and then I got chlamydia.  Well, ever since I had the chlamydia, I have had the cervicitis.   My gyno told me chronic cervicitis is not uncommon with procedures to the cervix.  It may go away on its own but that could take years.  So, with that said, the choice is yours.
