trichloracetic acid treatment

trichloracetic acid treatment

I went to get tested for all std's the other day... specifically hpv. The doc was not sure if the bumps i had around the head of my penis were in fact genital warts or normal papules since they were not all the way around the head. i was treated with trichloroacetic acid just in case. I was also treated at the tip of my penis around the urethral opening. the treatment around the head is doing fine and is in fact still white and starting to turn gray and is drying out. the treatment at the tip is very red and irritated but it is dried out as well. although now i am beginning to think that what i actually have are very small pearly papules since i have had them for quite a long time with no irritation or spreading or growing etc. i was wondering about the treatment i received near my urethra and if this normal. also if there is a possibility of scarring and length of healing

This all sounds like a normal reaction to TCA.  Scarring is a possibility, but if done well, this typically doesn't happen.  I'd give it a few days to a week to heal.
