warts cured= safe for partner?

by simina, Sep 02, 2008 11:51AM
I am a woman 28 y.o. and was diagnosed with condyloma about 1 year ago. They appeared externally in the genital area but were quickly cured after following the doctor's treatment. However, they have already appeared twice since then.
My question is whether I can still infect my partner, even after the warts have been cured (even temporally). I have heard that this is rather unlikely, when HPV is causing external symptoms (warts). True?
Thank you.

It has been my understanding that until hpv is out of your system, you can give it to your partner. People transmit hpv all the time even without EVER getting any genital warts. If you are in a monogamous relationship, I wouldn't worry about it, simply because hpv does not have the potential to have such detrimental effects on males.

i have it my partner doesnt we have been together for 2 years. i do use protection when i have outbreaks though. and hpv never goes out of your system lol its lifelong and uncurable so this is your life breakouts when your ammune system is bad until they come up with a good medication.

u need to go to the Experts forum-std's and read up on Genital Warts by Drs.Hook and Handsfield. They have over 30 years of xperience between them. Not everyone with warts has a situation like urs with a compromised immune system...virus lies dormant....and they state that they usually go away within 6-9 months. Many times minus treatment!i've never had them thank God just the high risk HPV but the Experts forum is a goldmine of education on this virus.
