warts on genital area but dont have HPV

In 2005 I was diagnosed with HSV (herpes), well at the time I had one or two flat warts on my genital area. I was tested for HPV and the test came back negative.

I am having a hard time finding info on the net and understanding this.

If I do not have HPV then how did I have warts on my genital area?

Am I at risk of cervical cancer?

I had a papsmear in 2008 and everything was fine, the warts went away within a few weeks of getting them in 2005

Hey, i read somewhere in the doctor's forum that you can have warts and have normal pap. And those strains of HPV that cause warts are usually not the ones that cause cancer. I think you shouldn't worry about cancer if your pap is normal.Even if it isn't, it takes many many (15 years) to even develop to cancer. Your gyno will have a lots of ways to prevent you from getting cancer as long as you do your routine pap and follow up with your appointments.
