2010-Total Hysterectomy---Dealing with a lot

I am 42 years old. Had total hysterectomy in 2010.  I am on Vivelle patch, went from 0.075 to 0.05mg in the last six months.  I am always tired. My Vitamin D was low last year, so now on 2,400 units of Vitamin D and my most recent level although "within" range seems low to me---30.7.  I was already overweight and have gained another 20 pounds since surgery. Libido does not exist. I am down a lot and my concentration/focus is getting worse.  Anyone else have or had this experience?
My OB did not put me on any other hormones as to not increase chances of cancer but put me on the patch shortly after surgery due to my instantaneous symptoms of menopause.  I am wondering if 1). Do I need to increase the patch back to 0.075 or add more Vitamin D?

If you were feeling much better on the 0.075 you might want to ask your Dr about going back to that. Also, you might want to think about having your thyroid checked. Your having some symptoms of low thyroid. This may not be the problem at all but it's worth getting checked out. A simple blood test. Ask to have TSH, FT3, FT4 and antibodies checked.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure my thyroid was checked recently, but will double check.

Many Drs just check TSH and that does not tell the whole story of how your thyroid is working. Did you go back up on your dose of The Vivelle patch?

No, not yet.  I have an apt. with OB next week and thinking I may discuss with him.  I started taking a Vitamin B-complex tablet yesterday to see if this helps with anxiety, stress, food cravings. It very well could be that I will need to go back to the 0.075 dosing.

So, how do you get the whole story of your thyroid?  Also, planning to bring my labs in to by OB for him to look at as well.

Thanks again for checking in:)
