Chlamydia and PID after hysterectomy

Can you get PID from chlamydia years after having a hysterectomy or is this not possible? From my understanding, the chlamydia bacteria cannot travel far enough to cause PID after you have had a hysterectomy.

Thanks for your response. I am aware that STD's and chlamydia are still a possibility after a hysterectomy, but is it possible to have PID caused by this. It is my understanding of PID that it is an infection of the uterus/fallopina tubes. So if this is the case, can PID be caused by chlamydia after a hysterectomy?

HI,
STD and yeast infections are possible after hysterectomy as these occur via the vagina. Chlamydia is also possible especially if the cervix has been left behind. Hence it will be best to consult your Doctor and rule out the possibility after a thorough evaluation.
Hope this helps.
