sometimes they use that twilight sleep .. ur awake or asleep depending on ur drug resistance ... u are aware of only some things they are doing but u wont see the operation ... u may even laugh ... i think thats the best way to do it ... plus a nurse anesthestitist ca deliver those drugs so the anesthesia doc wont be required
good luck and god bless

If you're lucky it does.  When I had mine I was under general anethesia.  It was much better and I had some bleeding afterwards and took some pain medication, but I was happy I was knocked out.  I had insurance at the time, so it was no problem.  I have heard that they will do D & C's in clinics with nothing more than a "cocktail" of valium or xanax for nerves, and some pain meds.  I would never want to be awake during this.  It is the same as having an abortion, except there is no fetus.  It's very painful so you want to be knocked out.  They may do it with something called "twilight sleep", where it just trickes your mind, because you are actualy awake during the procedure and can feel and hear everything, but you don't remember it, so they figure what the heck?  I would get general anethsia if you can afford it or have insurance.  Good luck!
