Enlarged uterous and endometrium

sorry 2nd post....I had just given birth to my third daughter in Septermber of 2008.  I had a tubal scheduled immediately after my delivery but it was canceled due to my difficult delivery and platelet count was really low.    I had my tubal in November of 2008.  It went well with a discovery of a cyst but it was removed.  I then started having symptoms of hyperthyroidism and seen my doctor.  Lab tests confirmed this, but my thyroid uptake scan took a turn with no activity.  Lab tests then confirms hypothyroidism with Hashimotos autoimmune disorder.   Now taking thyroid medicine.  Meanwhile, i have since been diagnosed with a prolapsed uterous and bladder has dropped.  My doc sent me home and told me to do Kegals and I would be all better.  Was not happy with the advice...seeked a second opinion.  Second opinion confirmed that I had a prolapsed uterous but therapy was a possibility.  She put me on Premarin topical cream and sent me to Physical THerapy letting me know there is a 60% chance of strenthening my pelvic floor.  The therapy was great and then started having irregular periods and then anytime I had intercource or bear down I would bleed.  Then it never stopped.   I have been bleeding for 3 months now. My ob/gyn sent me for an ultrasound.  My ultrasound showed that my uterous and endometrium was enlarged.  My endometrium is enlarged at 2cm and their is fluid found in my uterous.  My endometrium shows heterogeneous fibroid change but no focal fibroid can be seen.  I have been bleed a lot the past few days with soaking a pad every two to three hours and passing blood clots.    Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

Gm I am so very glad to hear back from you, your tiredness could be a combo of the
hypothyroidism ( a condition I share with you-) and from the heavy bleeding. You certainly do not want to become anemic. I take synthroid for my thyroid and have never had any problems I hope you get as lucky. I have read through chitchatnines, thyroid community and some have serious problems. I thus far have been lucky on that count...You bleeding that heavy is serious . Please Cassandra, dont let one more day go by. I am not trying to panic you I sure dont think its life threating. I think you have just what the doctor said a thick endometrial stripe , its very commonly first attempeted to be "healed" by a D&C,,not a horrible operation, rather easy out-patient one to two days of taking it easy perhaps a week of no heavy lifting and thats about it...My endocrinologist doubles in cardiology...But I get your point we are talking hormones from two different systems I agree with you, why not google it for your state, I am forever amazed at what I find on google. Please let me know how you make out at the docs as I will be thinking of you.

Just one thing if he trys to place you on Leupron , to stop your bleeding be aware 90% of my ladies that tried that had to discontinue. This med does stop the bleeding but the emotional side effects for most, not all, are extreme depression, crying jags etc...my own gyn told me he has had women come into the office crying begging to be take of said med.

have a great day...and I just know you will be fine((((Hugs to you))))) Cherie

I am scheduled to discuss my options with the doc in a few weeks.  The past several days I have experienced heavy bleeding.  I cramp then I feel a gush and my pad is nearly soaked.  I have had several embarrassing accidents, such as getting up from my seat and there is blood on the back of my pants.   I work at a hospital so i will call my doc in the morning to get in ASAP.  I do feel tired all of the time.  Not sure if it is from my thyroid or the bleeding.  I started taking iron supplements this weekend.  Thanks for getting back to me.   I will definately post on the thyroid forum.   I would love to find a gyno who specializes in endocrinology.

this would sound to me like somthing that yes you should do kegals, and also I am wondering why your doctor has not recommended a d&C simple procedure would get the extra tissue or enlargement out of your uterus. should stop irregular bleeding also.

We have a wondrful thyroid forum, i know the community leader she is fabulous , I would recommend you post yout thyroid questions there as it is her area of expertise.

Bleeding for 3 months is off the charts ridiculous are you bleeding constintly and hard? are you feelin tired possibly anemic?
