Just had to comment on this thread that I stumbled on. I have had intermittent hip pain since my hysterectomy 8 years ago. In the short-term, a doctor told me he felt an inflamed bursa sac (bursitis). That finally resolved after a year or two (don't recall exactly). But in the last few years, the loss of pelvic integrity from the hysterectomy have caused intermittent hip, back, and rib cage pain. Problem after problem just keeps cropping up since this surgery.
I have had right hip pain that started about 1 year post hysterectomy. I wake at night when I am sleeping on my right side with terrible pain. I was in to see my ( woman ) primary care doc for another reason. She had recently had a hysterectomy and had ( in the past ) said all good things about it but is now starting to have symptoms from it. It takes awhile for your body to figure out what has been done to it. One ( of many ) of her big complaints is right hip pain. She had tests, x ray etc. and was told the pain is from scar tissue from the ( hysterectomy ) surgery. Needless to say she is rethinking her opinions on hysterectomy
I hope you have been to your doctor for this...all I can think is when we are unconcious during surgery we really dont know what positions the surgeons put us in..I had severe back pain for several weeks after my surgery,,didnt make sense until surgeon explained the odd way he had me positioned during surgery.
I'm so sorry to hear your story. I am going thought the same issues. Only I don't have the knot ,however, I am suffering from major lower back pain. This includes sharp and throbing pain in both hips. Not able to sit not to mention, some days I walk like I am about 79 years old (i'm 34)
I had surgery Jan 19, 2009. This has been weeks Rrrrrrrr. If anyone out there is reading this PLEASE make sure you do your research first. I hear so many horror stories. This blurb is just about the pain. I won't even get into the fact that I have to wear a pad EVERYDAY because my perfect bladder before surgery is now considered weak and causes embarassing accidents.
My dear I wish the best for you. Sorry I wasn't of any help but someimes know someone understands and beilives your pain my provide a touch of momdentary comfort :)
