Hwich should I do Just remove the ovary or all of it?

Hi all,

I am 21 year old and when I was 15 I had my left ovary removed because I had a 12cm cyst twisted around it. For the last 5 1/2 year I was on birth control to prevent the cyst. In the last 6 months I have had 3 cyst burst and now I have found out that I have 2 cyst attached to my ovary. I want to just have a full hystorectemy (sorry about the spelling), but my parents and family believe that I should just have the ovary removed. My fear is that the cyst will grow on my uterus.

So my question...Which would be better for a 21 year old girl that can stand the pain and worry of cyst anymore, should I have just my ovary removed or have the full hystorectemy (again sorry for the spelling)?

Thank you for any input you might have!

you maybe would be better off askin ur doctor to see what are your options, especially if u may try to start a family in the future.. see what may fit you and what makes you feel comfortable to go along with..

Is your Dr recommending having your ovary removed? I can't tell you what to do but if it were me and I had to have the ovary removed, that's all I would do. Having a complete hysterectomy is major surgery. You should discuss all options with your Dr.  Remar
