Hysterectomy options

I'm waiting on my regular gyn to confirm everything but the Dr doing my sono today said nothing looks "suspicious" for cancer; just worsening Endometriosis & Adenomyosis from my surgery in 2005 and last tests in 2007. I have to wait until Monday to talk to my regular Gyn he's not in the office on Friday's even though they set up my appt with him.

I need a hysterectomy but no way am I having one unless I have cancer - they don't know what the leaking & bleeding is from so I have to go see my primary now and try to find the source.

Has anyone had any success in treating Adenomyosis? I know there are some non surgical things for Endo but haven't found anyone to say they've treated Adeno without hysterectomy.  I have some heart issues my gyn said he doesn't want to do surgery because of and is afraid my heart will stop again but I probably have 7-10 more years for menopause.

If not, what outweighs the benefits of having a hysterectomy? I've been pretty severely anemic since 2000 and pain etc but what happens after? do I have to go on HRT, meds etc if I do decide to go through with one?

Thanks =) I'll ask my gyn when he calls Monday about the injections, I'm not sure my system can handle them

I have an appt with my cardiologist soon, so I'll ask him also; I'm sure what they're both going to say is no surgery; no meds...gyn is afraid he will stop my heart and cardiologist won't agree because he doesn't know what's causing my heart problems...a catch 22 and unless I can take the meds with cardio's approval gyn probably won't put me on anything :(

there is nothing non surgical for andeno except possibly Leupron injections which have many side effects, mainly depression, what this med does is put you into menopause so the andeno and endo dont grow.

I would most deffinatley advise you to see your cardiologist if you dont have one find one and get him/her on board with opinions before you even consider this operation

If you do have the surgery you will need pain meds and most likely iron in your case, HRT is only needed if they take your ovaries, if they leave even one you would not need it. If you do need it you want BIO IDENTICAL  no premarine. again I would discuss allpossible meds with my heart dr before surgery....when you find out for surewhat your going to do let me know I can give you lots of pre and post op tips if needed.

If your dr approves Leupron and it doesnt give you bad side effects it is likely the best option but again Im concerned for your heart dont do anything with out a cardiologist approval, I would get two cardiologists opinions if I was you.
