I want my life back!!

I want my life back!!

I'm 27 and I've been SUFFERING with ovarian cysts since I was 18.  They have come and gone  birth control.  When i was pregnant with my second child they found a rather large uterine fibroid (which looks to be on the back side of my uterus). My daughter is now 1 year and I'm miserable.  I have very heavy menstural bleeding, debilitating cramps, sever moods swings (almost constant!), and almost constant lower back pain.  I have pain in my lower left side-which i know is my cyst.  I can't lay on my stomach or left side for a long period of time, I have very frequent constipation, urinate some-what often, and intercourse is miserable (due only to my medical condition *wink*).
I'm waiting for an ultrasound for a diagnosis.  I'm trying to prepare myself before hand due to insurance purposes, etc.  A few people have asked me to look into endometreosis.  Is that only truly diagnosed by laproscopy?  We are no longer desiring to have children so is hysterectomy a bad idea?  I've been suffering with this for almost 10 years...which is getting worse.  My quality of life is surely lowered and my moral is weakend.
My question...i want to be DONE with this.  If i have a hysterectomy will my hormones (or lack of) set me "off the deep end?".  I'm concerned about premenopausal symptoms that can become debilitating. I will be going through menopause in 15-20 years anyway...is is bad/different to do it surgically now?  Would I suffer any different/ more sever symptoms?  What about Embolization?  Side effects?  I appreciate your time and really look forward to hearing from you.  Thank you!

God Bless,
K

You should perhaps ask your doctor about the possibility of having endometriosis.

I have been inyour shoes I had my uterus remove 1 yr ago n tubes 2 weeks ago, you already are blessed to have 2 children so you should look into ending your pain.

the best way to diagnos and I believe the only way is laproscopic a diagnostic lap ia an easy surgery. I had one.
It is wonderful to be pain free, Recovery from hyst. is difficult but the end result is wonderful.  if you have 1 good ovary and dr can leave it that would be your best bet.

hormone replacement therapy is very contervesional,  wait and see what symptoms you have, if you are lucky enough to keep one ovary you wont have any.

ther is no telling whats going on in your pelvic cavity, besides endometriosis, there is adneomyosis ( thicking of uterus walls ) addhesions, scar tissue, my ovary was attached to my bowel with scar tissue, all of the above is diagnosed through laproscopy.
so ,,,, hope this helped best of luck to you.

Thank you for your help! Turns out that I have/had a rather large ovarian cyst on my right side...rupture about 1 1/2weeks ago (1 week before my ultrasound).  My gyn said it was an enormous amount of fluid in my upper AND lower abdomen...which is unusual (it's usually in front-lower).  I've been experiencing extreme pain, unable to eat large amounts of food (due to the pain when my stomach expands), my large intestines are "suspended" in the fluid, I urinate constantly.
I was given NO antibiotics and prescribed the NuvaRing.  I'm heading to a second opinion TOMORROW!  Talk about the run around!  I believe I have PCOS but have not yet been diagnosed.
I am tired of feeling "alone" with this.  I will keep you updated.  Thanks again!

not sure about pcos, if you had a cyst rupture and have a significant amount of fluid it must of been a big cyst , there are functional cysts and non -functional.Has nuva ring helped....just a heads up if they try to prescribe leupron injections resurch it and be careful there are many very negative side effects,

Do let me know Im gonna follow your case, I have been through very simlar stuff, i count my blessings because I was lucky enough to have my children before all this started.Im gonna send you a friendship invite so we can talk easier ok??
