Is a hysterectomy my only option?

Is a hysterectomy my only option?

I have had severe cramping before during and after my period for four years now. I have been to three different doctors. On of the doctors delivered my last child and then recommended me to a surgeon to perform my tubal ligation. I have seen both of those doctors for the cramping and heavy bleeding. both have said i can have a hysterectomy, go on birth control, or do an ablation. I have had multiple ultrasounds over the years and all testing has came back clean. The hysterectomy has been said it wont give me full relief only partial. I saw a new doctor yesterday who told me the ablation wasn't a sure fire thing. It would be  a partial hysterectomy. Is there any other options? I don't mind having a hysterectomy but want relief from the horrid cramps that have plagued me 9 months out of each year. I need my quality of life back for my kids.

Hi,
It would be best if a hysterectomy can be avoided as you are young. Pelvic congestion, pelvic infection and endometriosis can be the few reasons for such symptoms. The option of birth control or hormonal pills may give relief and you can give it a try.
Hope this helps and good luck.
