Is hysterectomy the only answer???

About two years ago I had an endometrial ablation due to heavy bleeding during my periods.  At that time, they also found two cysts in my uterus, that were removed laproscopically at the same time as the endometrial ablation.  Lately I've been having some abdominal pain and spotting (I no longer bleed during my cycle due to the endometrial ablation).  I had an ultrasound that showed a cyst on my uterus and an endometrial polyp.  The doctor scheduled a sonohysterogram so that she could get a better view of the cyst and polyp.  The sonohystogram was unsuccessful because they couldn't get the catheter to penetrate the endometrium due to scar tissue (I'm assuming from the endometrial ablation).  When I asked the doctor "what now", she basically told me that we should wait 3 months and do another ultrasound to see if there is any change in the cyst or polyp.  I expressed some concern over waiting and she said that she was "fairly comfortable" telling me that it's nothing to be concerned about and the only thing she can do to tell if it's a problem will required her to cut me (I'm assuming she's talking about a hysterectomy).  Anyone else been thru this and should I be concerned?  By the way, I'm still in pain!!!
