Is it normal to have Hot flashes after unilateral oopherectomy?

I had a total hysterectomy April of 2016. I was diagnosed with a rapidly growing complex cyst and scheduled for surgery on Feb. 17th. The cyst had destroyed my ovary completely so the surgeon removed the ovary also. I now only have my left ovary which he said he cauterized a few endometrial spots on. The left ovary had a mass removed from it 16 years ago. I do not take medications so I hurt as expected but today (3 days post op) I have started experiencing some sweats/hot flashes. I can't find much info on effects of unilateral oophorectomy, especially after a total hysterectomy. I have found all kinds of info regarding increased mortality rate of 172% after a bilateral oophorectomy before the age of 45. I am 39. I read about surgically induced menopause. Again, only regarding bilateral. Any info or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hysterectomy can cause impaired ovarian function. That is more likely to occur when one ovary is removed. Some women do end up having symptoms similar to women whose ovaries were removed. This study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3223258/ addresses the risk of ovarian failure after hysterectomy. It is 2x that of an intact woman when both ovaries are left in place. That risk is greater when one ovary is removed.
