Please need help asap

Can someone help me answer this, I am 46 had my ovaries removed 6 years ago, I do have my uterus and now they found a large mass and want me to have it and my uterus removed to be tested for cancer. I thought if you dont have your ovaries you dont produce estrogen and masses cant grow? Is that true. I go for surgery next week and Im a nervous cant sleep, hope...

Hi Mabs20, welcome to the hyster forum....I did things the oppisite of you had my uterus removed and cervix then a year and 1/2 later had my ovaries and tubes removed.  May I ask why your ovaries where removed, was it cysts or cancer?

Sorry but the thought that you can not get a mass post Oopherectomy is false.What type of hysterectomy are you having? If you can get the DaVinciRobotic its the best,,second best is a lap...however not knowing the demensions of your cyst he may have to do an abdominal insison.  

I really truely do understand your stress, we women always take care of the kids , pets, spouse etc..and tend to put our selfs last,In this case my friend you can not do that, time for you to be first.Will you please let me know the date of your surgery and any specific questions you have. I can help you alot with post op tips and even with somethings to do pre-op...

Try along very hot soaking bath 2 hours before bed this helps your body relax. Do not take any asprin or blood thinning products.Sometimes its  good to watch somethingnon stimulating on tv..no news or such maybe animal planet...it works for me..
I know many many women who have had large begnine masses removed.,,when I had my surgery there was a woman in her 80s as my room mate who had a cantelope size tumor(benine) removed..I know its easy for me to say but don't borrow trouble,,,theres more of a chance your growth is non cancerous than the other..I will help you in anyway I can please pm me or write another post,,,(((hugs))))Cherie
