Robotic hysterectomy

Has anyone had their hysterectomy by robotics? Im having the robotics hysterectomy on Dec. 30 and was wondering how the recovery has been for someone who has that type of surgery.

I dont think you will need to have some one with you, however you need to have someone "set you up" first 3 days home no stairs so get the couch comfy made up w pikkows sheets..have a night table near you with water your meds, a few magazines, the remote. a cell phone, Have husband prepare a lunch you can grab from fridge..no bending or lifting for a few days.

soft foods are foods that physically are soft like pudding, jello, mashed potatoe, yougert, ice cream, mac anc cheese, applesauce, cranberry sauce, anything that is "mushy"
I have a list on my home page of pre and post op hysterectomy hints.(buy a ice pac)

You really dont want to get constipated after surgery and the meds often do that my journal page explains how to avoid that and much more, Please read its under journals I believe the 5th one down so you will have to scroll for it.

Thanks Cherie,
My Dr. has been doing the DaVinci robotic assisted for 2 1/2 years. I asked him that when I was discussing my decision with him.
How long was your recovery? I will be alone during the day when I get home until my husband gets home from work at 3:30. Do you think I should make arrangements for someone to be with me for the first few days?
Im really stressed about this surgery. Too much time to think about it. Ive had to wait for 3 mo.........but on the other hand I have lost 15 lbs and am hoping to lose another 5 before the 30th.
Could you define soft foods? Want to make sure I have all that I need on hand.

Hi Mary Jo..I had the DaVinci robotic....it is the best method, state of the art..ask your dr. how many he has performed,,,I wouldnt want a dr for example whos only done ten....the bleeding post op is way less, scars are much smaller,,they can remove more endo tissue, see smaller vessels to do better cauterisation suturing and removal of any tissue  they wish. Its actually a robotic glove the dr puts hands in and is guided by computerised imigery. He can see far better than he or she ever could with naked eye. It will for sure eliminate many comlications easier recovery.

I did see the surgery on youtube....look for da vinci robotic hysterectomy. Very high tech.
Im worried after reading some of the posts. There are so many complications that can arise after surgery. Hoping the robotic assisted will eliminate some complications.
Love to hear from ya all.
