I am a sixty one years old and underwent a full abdominal hysterectomy for suspected uterine cancer five months ago. Despite having an excellent prognosis as there was minimal myometrial invasion, my consultant will not prescribe estrogen replacement therapy. I have virtually no libido and pain and soreness with sexiual intercourse. I use the ordinary lubricants but feel estrogen cream would be more helpful in restoring good sexual functioning. Any advice, please!.
Talk to your consultant about the specific problem. In other words, don't just request HRT, but say you are having pain and soreness with intercourse and your sex drive has tanked, and this is a big issue for you. If the consultant is indifferent to this, go to someone else.
