Hi, alrighty that cleared some things up !! thank you. Im glad your on your 4th opinion, means your pretty clear as to your condition and decisions necessary.
I kinda had a similar story as you endometriosis, had 3 or 4 laprospic surgeris to remove what endo tissue they could see,,the good part its getting rod of some endo, the bad part with every surgery you get more and more scar tissue, becomes a vicious cycle,
Your family history is very concerning. I hope you are not a smoker. I believe endometiosi must have a hereditary componet.I am very glad you had at least one child, because it sounds like you will not be able to carry another.
My endometriosis turned into andeomyosis, you may have that the uterus becomes enlarged and pushes on the bladder leading to very frequent potty trips.
Are you currently taking pain medications? if yes and they are narcotics, this cause constipation , try a stool softerner such as colace( not a laxative JUST a stool softner) ask your pharmisit or doctor for advice , if you have any doubts.I had tons of BM problems through out my female surgeries,Try to eat lots of fiber,,avoid meat, and any other binding foods,,drink water at least 6 large glasses oer day.
I would say you probably dont want option number one. Why suffer, you deserve better than that. Option 2 is something to think about, however as I discussed about scar tissue, you will get it,,,my ovary became wrapped in scar tissue and was attached to my bowels lead to lots of complications,,A hysterectomy has lots of pluses and minuses at your age, Of corse you will be thrown intomenopause.
have you tried Leupron its an injection that will put you into a chemically induced menopause, I have heard many negative side effects as far as emotions running high, crying spells etc.
My mother's side of the family is riddled with Cancer and Auto-Immune Disorders. 3 of my aunts had Hysterectomys before the age of 32 from complications of Endometriosis. My mother, my maternal grandmother and 2 aunts have had uterine, ovarian cancer. 2 of which died from complication of the Cancer. 10 years ago Dr's removed a mass on the outside of my abdominal muscle, it was Endometriosis. I haven't had any children since. The tissue apparently came out during the c-section.
The appointment I had was our first meeting as she is the 4th opinion. The doctor used the word "fixed". Her words were, "Your Uterus and Cervix are pretty fixed, I believe the scarring is pretty severe" after she did the bimanual exam. Prior to doing the bimanual, she was hopefull. After the exam, everything changed. She said that at this stage Laproscopy would need to be done intensely, which may result in another procedure 6 mo. to a year down the road. Even then, she didn't believe that I could bear anymore children due to "Retroversion". Not to mention, the bowel reconstruction that may be needed. I am 30 years old, Menopause is still pretty far off for me. She told me to weight the long term effects of 1: managing the way it is, 2: undergo several Laproscopic procedures to get what they can. or 3: have the Hysterectomy. However, two of those options would not alleviate the pain totally.
I do not care about having another child at this point, it is what it is. My bowels are so bad that I am afraid to eat, as it will result in pain. I have lost 20 lbs in 6 mo. I have diarrhea daily non-stop since I can't remember. Bloating is like torture. Bowel movements are even worse. Heaven forbid that I hold my urine.
Hi there and welcome to mH,,not understanding one word in your post " fixed" is used in describing your uterus twice,,do you mean fused? cause if it was fixed I would not understand why you would ned a hysterectomy.
sounds like you have endo all over the pelvic cavity, Endo can be quite painful,Exactly what iotions are your doctors giving you besides hysterectomy? do you already have children? It sounds like you do as you say having children again,,,,
Is your mom the only one with history of cancer in family? when you give me just a bit more information I think I can help you, A hysterectomy is a very serious operation,
It also sounds like your in serious pain daily let me know what you mean by uterus fixed then I will try to answer better...Cherie
