Thickened Uterus lining

I am a 59 year old woman, no spotting etc. but pain in the pelvis area. my doctor said that my uterus lining is 13 to 15 cm and should be 4 - 5 cm. I'm not sure what this means, I am going to see my Gyno doctor, once the appointment is made. Is a D&C enough. I have had two life birth, two miscarriage, and four D&C, what is next??

Any answeres would be great!

I had very similar finding on my endometrial lining ( for several years), I had 3 biopsies which all came back normal.  However, other issues came up and I just recently had to have a hysterectomy (total abdominal) and my uterus was full of adenomyosis.  I would think the very least your doctor would do is an endometrial biopsy. Let us know what he says!

Hi, Welcome to our community!

I would like you to know none of us are drs, here just been through the same and researched much.

Look up andeomyosis..and please ask you dr about it. The only way I know to diagnosis it is by a diagnostic laproscopy.

I had this..its similar to endometroisis but  the lining of the uterus from previous menstrual cycles becomes trapped in between the inner and outer lining of uterus...causing it to become "boggy-spongy" gets think and usually prolapses a bit..any troubles with feeling of pressure on the bladdeer?

If this is not what your dr thinks..ask him for tests..ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound..maybe a dignostic lap.

I certainly could be wrong but unless dr has opened cervix and done a scopy to see in uterus,,Im not sure how he would know a Dand C would be in order.

All the best,
Let us know how your doing,

Cherie
