UTI 2 weeks post op laparoscopic hysterectomy?

I am now just over 2 weeks post op. I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy, Davinci assist. I've been doing ok. Some back pain at end of days have been typical, especially if I did a few things during the day.
I was in pain last night and went to ER. I was diagnosed with a UTI and given Cipro.
Is it late to be getting a UTI this far out from my surgery and catheter?
Thank you

Sorry you've had this complication. UTI's are common after hysterectomy. And yes, they can happen two weeks out. Not sure what's normally given for UTI's but Cipro is a strong antibiotic (fluoroquinolone family) that tends to be over-prescribed. Hopefully, it will eradicate this infection without causing any problems.
