Vaginal Odor-Hysterectomy what to do????
i had a hysterectomy at 28. i was embarrased by the fact that i sometimes think i smell so freaking bad, but to hear others are experiencing the same issues makes me feel better. they say no douching but if your periods cleaned out your uterus and vagina. what cleans out your vagina know? i am clean & aware of my body yet i feel like nothing i do makes a difference the odor still remains. does this mean that stuff just sits in there??? i dont know embarassing questions ...need answers too!!

I suffer from chronic BV (bacteria vaginosis). However, since having a partial hysterectomy 3 years ago, I always seem to have a vaginal odor even when I test negative for BV. Here's what I am currently trying - vaginal douching of colloidal silver, sometimes with tea tree oil. Yes, douching is typically no-no. However, natural douches (hydrogen peroxide, colloidal silver, tee tree oil) are recommended by doctors. There was a study conducted that proves hydrogen peroxide douches to be highly effective and recommended by health care professionals (you can find my doing an on line search). Colliodal silver is very effective in killing EVERYTHING. You can take orally or use as a douche (I do both) I am also taking femdophillus which is a probiotic specifically for women. It regulates the ph balance. You can take it orally or insert vaginally. I am also taking 800g of Folic acid daily. Many herbalogists also recommend inserting a clove of garlic vaginally. It's a natural remedy for odors. Do some research on everything I've mentioned. Hope it helps!

It would be probably a good idea to ask dr, it may very well just be your body chemistry changed, kind of like some people have foot odor and some dont, I really didnt mean to imply your not healthy by thinking it may be an infection and i deffinatley did not mean a std, just possibly thought a standard bacterial infection. Your Dr could check for that by a cbc test.
well according to doctors im healthy...i go for paps every 3 months because of cancer problems,...but on the same not i've never asked about odor. i have checked online and alot of people say they experience odor after a hysterectomy. its not that i think i have an infection im healthy. i just have had an odor that started a little while after my hysterectomy

Id have to agree with above poster..you very well likely have a infection...you should really see your gyn.....I am most certain that your Dr will agree ( but do ask) that its NOT a good idea to douche its seldom done anymore, your body has a way of regulating the PH balance no matter what age a female is..think if all women those who had hysterectomys those who have yet to mensutrate or those in menopause (which you are now its called surgical menopause) had a odor ..it would be very unusuall,,,,thus as above says its probably a infection that your DR can treat,
