Vivell-Dot

I had a total hysterectomy in 1984 at the age of 26.  I have been on estrogen for all of these years.  Last month I decided to see what would happen if I went off of my patch so I was off of it for a week.  It was hell!  I had hot flashes so bad, sweating terribly bad, couldn't sleep at night, I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin is the only way I can describe it.  Now I went back on my patch out of desperation and still don't feel 100 percent better.  Does it take awhile for the estrogen to build up in my body again so I can feel better?  I am so depressed about all of this. Sincerely, Diane 07

If your bodys been used to being on Vivelle, Id say it should be a rleativley short period of time that it will take to readjust to going back on the med. I did the exact same thing as you, I was on Vivelle for 3 years decided to experiment and see what happened if I discontinued ot, it seems to be ok for me, but of corse everyone is different. Personally I think Vivelle is a good product and if you need it stick w it. You may want to investigate Black kosch Or sometime found spelled Black Cosch, its an herbal can usually be used in addition to meds, do of corse read on it and ask your physician. Its very popular in europe and helps w depression, hot flashes and sweats...hope you feel better soon, if you dont you may have to discuss w dr about increasing vivelle dosage or perhaps deciding if you need to add testostrone. Some women do much better w a combo product. HRT is indeed a very individualised decision and varies alot.
