a confused 36yr old considering a hysterectomy...

hi all... i am 36 and am waiting on results of a blood test to determine whether i have ovarian cancer.. if i get the all clear then it is just a 5-6cm cyst... i have a history of oc in my family (my mother had both her ovaries removed when she was 28).. if i get the all clear iv been advised that a hysterectomy would be an option if i wanted to eliminate the chances of getting oc in future.. i only had the test yesterday and have been frantically searching the internet on hysterectomies ever since.. im not sure i should be considering it atall from what i have read.. i didn realise how difficult an op it is and that does make me sound stupid but i really didnt which is why im doing research.  if it is oc then my decision will be different and probably out of my hands but assuming it isnt oc iv been offered regular checks because of the history.. i just dont know what i should do.. im worried if i dont have the ovaries removed now then i could develop it in future, but then iv also read without the ovaries i could develop oc.. o my god im soooo confused..
any advise would help me loads thanx ladies
