estrotest

had one of the 15 years ago, after stopping hormones 8 years ago i recently went back on a low dose of menest,it seemed to get me feeling normal but then stopped..i had my hormones tested and went for results yesterday everything was so low so dr put me on estrotest to try for a mont ans a estogen vaginal cream.I hope it kicks in and get me feeling like the menest did at first...........i have no energy or sex drive....for some reason im feeling depressed again and im still on my wellbutrin and almost off the prozac..i have been doing nutrisystem and also going off the prozac i have lost 12 pounds..................will estrotest help sex drive and give me some energy..dr said we should know if the higher estogen will be helping within a week but testtestrona a bit longer,if this donr work she will compound things for me//since being on menest my thraot always hurts but they have run tests and my throat is fine i wonder if its a side effect of menest

estrotest is mainly for hot flashes, I am not familar with menest read up on it it certainly has a LOT of side(possible) effects some quite serious,,saw nothing at all about it being related to the throat.

Advice..there is a new trend of nurse practioners who specialise in menopause be it natural or surgical...They have more time to talk than Drs and in general it seems to me your taking a lot of differnent hrts..there are so many new bio-identical that are componds,,,,you may find its time to try something new.

this has nothing to do with your antidepressants...very common for middle age women...even more so when our hormones are a mess...If you have  been o same anti dep for awhile it may be time to try something new there also, dont be in a hurry to get off of them....prozac is one of the older anti depressants...wellburtin is a dopamine uptake......most women with depression also need a seration uptake ( like prozac)  I take Celexa and am happy with the results,,,,dont mean it will work for you. it may take some trials to find what works best but please dont stop trying until you get it right....also important I think is see a psychiatrist for psych meds....gyno for female hormones or perhaps a endrocrinologist....I really believe in going to the top specialist for what ever the ailament      schedule a appointment with a ear nose throat for throat pain its likely completley unrelated to other issues.

good luck

Cherie........btw insist on complete hormone level tests adrenal glands trickle a bit so just because you have no ovaries dont mean no hormones....also good idea ask for full panel thyroid.....many post hyster develop thyroid issues,,,,,can cause depression..its a big vicious circle but youll get to the bottom of it.
