hormone treatments?

Hello. I am new to this site but wanted to seek a support system on something I'm dealing with.  I am 26 years old and after having my daughter in 2003, I had to have a hysterectomy due to complications from endometriosis after going into labor.  I was left with 1 ovary which for sometime hasn't been working properly.  I'm currently taking Premarin 1.25 mg for my hormonal issues but it isn't helping very much.  At 26, I have horrible night sweats, hot flashes, crying spells, mood swings, etc...  Aside from that, I also have hypertyroidism which adds to some of my symptoms.  Does anyone know of any other type of hormone I should ask my physician about, as I am getting very weary of being this age and unable to do very much from my body being so tired and weary.  Thank you for your time.

Hi there,
I have to agree with Cherie. I too am on the vivelle dot patch, I change mine every 2 days and also take estradiol one tab at bedtime. I am like a new person. I think they have finally gotten my hormone replacement right. I must say that premarin is one of the older, not so good hormone replacement products available. There are so many new and safer bioidentical hormones on the market like the vivelle. I would go back to my doc, get your hormone levels checked and demand to be put on one of the safer replacements. i don't mean to sound rude, but premarin is not a great replacement. It is made from the urine of pregnant mares (horses). They have different make ups than us humans. I hope you get some answers regarding the hormones. Do you take meds for the hyperthyroidism? I had a brief episode of thyroiditis a few years ago and was put on PTU and inderal for a short time. Mine resolved but there are many treatments to get that condition under control.
Good luck with all this and let us know how you make out
