Hi, I am a 21 year old whose gone through seven surgeries/procedures this year. All gyno related issues
(5th May) D&C and insertion of merina (removed 6 days later)
(6th June) D&C, hystoscope and exploratory laparoscopy
(6th September) laparoscopy to excise endometriosis - complications due to bleeding only left side was excised
(8th September) exploratory laparotomy
(9th September) laparotomy to insert a sent and reimplant ureter into bladder
(1st November) removal of stent
(26th November) colonosopy
Seen new gyno/endo specialist today. Confused. He wants to do another surgery to clear out the remaining endo/scar tissue but first see my hematologist to get her opinion on the precautions that need to be taken, do a blood test to see if my overies are working/how many eggs I may have. He wants me to freeze my eggs. His worried/concerned i may be going through menopause. His only seen 2 people at 21 go through it. I asked would a hysterectomy help if another surgery doesn't (as my GP and I were discussing it) he said he was already thinking of it. I want kids. I'll go do the blood tests on Monday. It isn't something you should have to decide so young. :(
If a hysterectomy would give me some quality of life back I'd do it as I am currently in chronic pain and relying on narcotics to get through the day. I don't mean to be rude, how old where you when you had it done and did it help??
I had my hysterectomy at 42, just took out my cervix and uterus but now am going back in to have an ovarian cyst removed and probably that ovary depending what he sees going on in there. I know that with endometriosis it is harder to get pregnant so that is something to consider also. I am sorry you have been through all this at such a young age. I had my first colonoscopy this year (43 now) due to stomach issues.
