hysterectomy complications

My cuz had a lap. hysterectomy 5 wks ago. 1st complication was that bowel had been cut during surgery. MD went back in through large midline lower adb. incision to repair bowel. 2nd complication, midline incision became infected. It was partially opened to drain out infection. She went home after 13 days in hospital. Once home she had severe abd. pain and was unable to have BM. 3rd complication, MD put her back in hospital, he said that he thought the mesh used to tack the bladder was wrapped around the bowels. He went in through the vagina to loosen the mesh and restitch. She was sent home the next day, and can now have BM. 4th day postop, bleeding stopped. 5th day post op started up again. Not hemorrhage but heavy. MD says bleeding is from cut in vagina from last surgery. She doesn't look good, is bleeding and is having terrible pain in R lower back. It is hurting so bad she cannot take a deep breath. Help. Should she seek 2nd opinion? I'm very worried for her and her health.

this is appalling that your cuz has been treated this way. her pain is probably due to bowel spasms i had them after my surgery for the same and they are worse than childbirth.
get her to a er and get her seen too. meanwhile get a second opinion  and get her well. i wouldseriously  think of sueing cos this should not happen .

I would get her to the ER if she is in that much pain and the fact that she doesn't look good. Make sure that hacker doctor stays away from her! Hopefully there is another doctor in the ER, or one that can be called in so he/she can help her.

I wish her luck and hope everything works out for her. Let us know!

Heck yeah she needs to get a second opinion. I would get her away from that hacker. Sounds like he is dangerous.
