itching 4 years after hysterectomy on the incision.  very red with welts..

Could be a number of things...  Infection or just a stitch working its way out.  Sounds crazy, I had that happen to me, several years after surgery.  You should probably call the doctor's office and speak to a nurse.  Hope you feel better.
