If you had your surgery a month ago you should be having most of your strength a stamina back. Recovery is not always the same for every patient. It is normal to have issues with bending  and climbing as you had major abdominal surgery and only time will heal. As for returning to activities of daily living will be totally dependent on how fast you are recovering. By this time you should not be just laying around you should be up walking and eating appropriate to get your strength back. Your Dr should determine when you can resume driving and any strenous activites as you do not want to open up any sutures/stiches. If you are too weak to walk warrants a return visit to the Dr to make sure there are no other issues
Good Luck
