rest is the best recovery......buy an ice pack it helps a lot...have anything done that you wnat done ,,,prepare meals that you can pull outts freezer....have a helper for 1st few days i couldnt even put my own socks on....your doctor will tell you to do nothing that is literal do nothing for first 2 weeks plan on laying around sleeping a lot...dont stress your bpdy you will take longer to heal and risk popping stitches...buy colace its a gentle stool softner your gonna be nervous for the first poop and you will be on narcotic pain medsa that are constipating...eat a soft food diet for first 3-5 days..you whole system will digest it easier.....expect a little staining ...bleeding red should be reported....showers no baths...do not do any heavy lifting or vaccume or heavy house work for 6 weeks ...stock up on some crossword puzzles, needlepoint ...movie rentals whatever you like for quiet time....ask for and accept help your gonna need it....wear loss clothing...be prepared for very serious pain your pain meds will handle it .....take them....the vast majority of women feel completley physically healed by 6 weeks....take it very easy for 1st intercourse after 6 weeks and doctors ok.....and last but not least welcome to medically induced menopause,,,,I believe in bioidentical hormone replacement many on here like Vivellle its a estrogen patch easy to use...If you have any more direct questions please feel free to pm me...

hi cherie
thank you for your helpful email. i will ask my doctor about the Vivelle. i especially appreciated the colace/soft food advice. a few years ago,i suffered from an anal fisher for a year and that was like giving birth every day at bathroom time. i would HATE a repeat of that. thanks again, be well.

your very wrong there are many reasons for a hysterectomy ever hear of andeomyosis I had it its very very painful only cure a hysterectomy..how about endometriosis how do you propose doctors cure that?   what about multiple cysts....adhesions...abnormally thick lining....multiple periods per month causing anemia....which can be life threatining....or how about trauma ....are you aware that some rapes cause so much damage that it has occured that hysterectomys are preformed...oh yes and what about all the emergency hysterectomys after childbirth....no disrespect,,,but clearly you need to be educated about hysterectomys.....actually uterine cancer if caught early usually does not result in a hyster is quite curable, in stage 1 thats one of the reasons we get pap smears  Its very immoral of you to come on this forum and belittle these women INCLUDING me who have had a hysterectomy it is a painful life altering operation

good morning cherie

had my boyfriend (was an ex for the past 6 weeks)  in town this weekend. i was not on the computer. feeling a little better every day. still getting gas cramps..do you know how long that lasts?
my mom has been sick with a cold and i have not seen her since the day after i came home from hospital. i sent her home, for fear of getting a cold and having to cough or sneeze.
how are you?
