uterine cancer

i am 65 yr old with vaginal bleeding x 1 week,  a couple of days ago due to pain and nausea was given the transvaginal ultrasound,  no masses were seen but the endometrial thickeness was measured at 16mm.  an appointment was made for me to see a gynecologist in the am.  i had my 3 children by c section and not vaginally back in the 60's.  i am worried that if the doctor wants to do the biopsy how bad will that hurt.   also i am trying to figure out what my chances are that it might be cancer.  can anyone help me with some answers or opinions??    thanks pa

Endometrial biopsy is an office procedure.  The endometrial biopsy is obtained through the use of an endometrial suction catheter that is inserted through the cervix into the uterine cavity.

You should ask dr about taking a otc pain reliever , often if you ask, and have a driver, for tests such as these the dr may ask you arrive an hour early give you a valium or such and a narcotic pain med. This is mostly to relief apprehensions.

The c sections should not have anything to do w endo thickness,  Perhaps a simple D and C will solve your problems.

please stay in touch let me know what dr says.
