You know guys I love it when I am given something homemade , it seems more personal and very often more well made than some of the stuff out there.I like the idea of the mixes in pretty jars. Yes Crotcheta do post pics those bird feeders sound great I wouldnt have thought of that , my DH made me a bird stand , a thick pole, with a platform on top, the cat tries to jump on it and is always left hanging by her claws on the edge ,he is going to make me a taller one ,that may deter her more ...Sunshine I like the pasta sauce jars aswell they are the ones the DH pinches for his 'screws'
I like glass containers because they don't hold scent like plastic. I keep my coffee, sugar and creamer by the coffee pot in these reused containers. Also the large tins that coffee come in are wonderful to hold flour, rice, pasta. Anything you don't want to keep in the original package. Also if you look in the laundry dept of your general you'll find that laundry soap comes in bags that make a lot less waste than traditional containers. I keep mine in a 5 gallon bucket from the hardware store.
That sounds so cute! Last year my daughter-in- law-to-be gave me some chocolate chip cookie mix in a mason jar like that. I use these mason jars for tea bags or brown sugar.
I don't like to leave any thing I buy in the package loose in my pantry. I prefer to put them in a container. It's just a thing I have.
Pasta Sauce and Salsa come in some really pretty and interesting jars. I make dry Cocoa & Coffee mixes for Christmas and use these jars with a little scrap fabric over the lid as gifts.
My hubby has 3 parakeets. The food he feeds them come in this large gallon size jar.
I think I will use these for birdhouses or feeders. These jars are plastic and sturdy. I will post photos when I do these.

Yes I do that with the food containers we put dried fruit and nuts in them, the Dh uses all the jars from pickles or coffee, peanut butter for putting his screws ,nails and all those goodies men love to have about them...
Instead of having hand me downs, I call it recycling. Especially with kids, I had clothes passed on to me from family and I passed them on also. Kids out grow things often.
We were taught not to waste anything. I use plastic containers that some things I buy come in and wash them out. I use these for the freezer or if I want to send someone some food, I don't have to worry about the container.

Bruce Willis is good but mine looks more like Jason Statham. Yummy
You know I think guys who look like Bruce Willis are really cool .........
I just married a bald guy and it took a lot of my budget. LOL
I also cut my kids hair. I have it cut at the salon once or twice a year and use what they have done as a guide. I also go to Youtube and about.com for ideas.
Hey guys thats a good one yes kids have hair that grows quickly,I tried to cut the DHs once and made a bit of a mess maybe we could take some online classses in hair cutting ,cant be rocket science can ot..Hey I have come up with a ton of ideas ...
I also cut Trevor's hair. I bought a clipper set at Wal-Mart last year for about $20 and I've just learned to do it myself. Granted, the first few haircuts looked...short and...choppy, but I've gotten much better, lol. Considering he needs a haircut about every 6-8 weeks, and a child's haircut ranges in price from $10-14, that little $20 clipper set has more than paid for itself.
Now my husband, I don't think he'll let me come near his head with those clippers, lol.
Well, going on the topic of small children, my friend has 4 boys and she cuts all of their hair. She also cuts her husband's hair. She has no professional training, it's just something she started doing and taught herself. It sure saves a lot of money, though!
