Is the pain sign of the vaccination success

when i was getting the h1n1 vaccine, i felt pain while getting it in my arm, an then after a few hours the pain increased and last for about 24 hours, my question is :
is the pain because of the injection it self or because of the liqued that goes into the muscel

The pain is from the vaccine that went into your  muscle. The needle is very thin and usually you hardly feel the needle go in and if you do, it's only for a split second.  Normally you dont feel a flu shot but the H1N1 vaccine is a little different.  You would get the same sensation from a Tetanus shot and many feel a burning sensation and pain from the HPV vaccinations.
