A forum for abortion recovery

A lot of posts end up in the Maternal and Child forum (and probably other pregnancy forums) of women asking questions that concern their recovery after an abortion.
I am completely against abortion, but oftentimes, I can't help but feel badly for some of these women who post asking for advise about their recovery, and it ends up with them getting attacked and accused by all the women who are offended that they got an abortion, because THEY are ttc, can't have children, miscarried, etc. I can understand why they'd be so offended about people posting abortion questions.
But at the same time, the OPs get so degraded that they never respond back or even come back to MH. I think a person should feel welcome back to these forums to ask medical questions. In some cases of abortions, I think some women feel helpless and regret doing it, and the way they're attacked doesn't help.
What if they had a forum to go to where others are experiencing the same emotions? They may have that outlet to open up and express their regrets for healing to move on with their lives and, hopefully, not feel the need to get another abortion again.
But my main concern is that these posts can be redirected away from the pregnancy and maternal forums, because it is a really sensitive subject. Abortions and ttc and miscarriages are not a good mix in one forum. I think there should be a way for them to be separated to avoid the arguments that break out every time without fail.

Thanks for the suggestion. If anyone would like to start a User Group for women recovering from abortion, please do so. Here's a link to our current list of groups:

And a link to creating your own group:

This is definitely a good idea. If member opinion has any bearing, here's another who supports the idea.

I think the importance is that an abortion is an invasive medical proceedure that requires recovery time, regardless of whether or not someone thinks it's morally and ethically wrong.
Abortion is unfortunately something that is always going to be around, no matter what the legal circumstances are or become. There will be women who get abortions, and they're going to have to recover from them.
I think they should be able to get medical advise for a medical recovery without being degraded and judged by people who think they committed an unforgivable sin.

I too am against it...but would never judge someone b/c I am not in their shoes and I think the forum would be good for those who have had one and need someone to talk to and yes there should be a CL and/or Moderator or it be an expert forum... and it should be monitored closely b/c the abuse will come out from those who can't bite their tongues.

Yeah, if you do a search for abortion in the archives, there are A LOT of questions relating to this subject.  So, obviously there is a need.

Keeping the faith that this will be answered soon, whether such a forum is considered or declined on MH.

i wonder if they could have it so that when certain words pop up (you know which abusive namecalling words im talking about) it wont even allow it to be posted.

i think its a great idea, but i dont know   i know there will be those that  have to speak their mind no matter how wrong and angry.

Methinks Swampy is quite correct, but it shouldn't be a pay forum.

Swampy thinks medhelp should work to identify a doctor who wants to talk about abortion recovery and make this an expert forum.

If an abortion recovery forum does get created, it most definately needs to have a community leader or moderator.  It wouldn't be fair to have a community like that just so people can come attack them there.
