I'm sorry, but we don't have a way to undo it either. However, it does appear that you are still getting feedback in that thread. If you continue to participate there, it's likely that others will continue the dialogue as well.
I'm using a tablet and I just selected a "Best Answer" by accident while scrolling with my fingers. I can't believe there's no undo feature on a medical forum. My life and death case hasn't been solved and I don't want people to think it has been solved simply because I accidentally chose the "Best Answer." On tech/gaming forums selecting a solution usually closes your thread since the problem has been resolved and I certainly don't want that here. There should at least be a confirmation dialog or something asking if you're sure.
I'm willing to pay to have a mod or the administrator undo the "Best Answer" currently selected in my thread.
Thanks,
Ryan
Hi there,
Nursegirl is right. Once Best Answer is chosen, right now there is no way to go back to un-check it or select another one instead. Best Answer is only a small part of the formula pertaining to points and stars.
This is something that has been brought to our attention previously and is being considered in future changes.
If you have any other questions, please let us know.
Steph
I have no doubt they will. I know they are busy.
I'm sure they will reply, they always do!
Thanks Nursegirl.
I had hoped I would have had a reply from a moderator in the first instance, but appreciate you trying to explain things to me.
Ah, I get it and understand.
Actually, the best answers and stars are two totally separate programs. One doesn't influence the other.
I'll let one of the mods explain, they will do a better job than I, lol. Many people think that's the case, but it isn't.
Thanks.
I appreciate and have experienced that not everyone leaves feedback to answers.
But have been notified that unknowingly someone else's answer was chosen as a best answer instead of mine. I have received private messages since.
It is not a too big a deal, but a little unfair when we receive points and stars for the amount of "best answers" received.
I may be able to help a little. You should be able to choose the BA by opening up your thread. If you hover over each reply, to the right should be an option to choose that reply as best answer. Just click the box where indicated.
If BA is chosen erroneously, there is no option to undo it at this time. This has been an issue more with the mobile site, as it's easy to tap on the screen and accidentally chose an answer. People have given MH suggestions on maybe having a confirmation page to avoid accidental BA selections.
Keep in mind that it's not required. Sometimes. people just choose not to select an answer at all. Just something to keep in mind.
Hope that helped some. :0)
