Hi, tonight I clicked on Questions for You and got transferred to "cheetahvizu.com" or something like that, and again the screen froze on white. Is this all just because some advertisers take a long time to load? I have a pretty good system with fast responses normally even when something is downloading a video in an ad. When this is happening, I can't get anything to load, it just does the computer equivalent of the deer in the headlights. (For what it's worth, my browser is Firefox and I work on a new iMac.)
OK, the post popped up again on my question list, and what happened when I tried to click "Ignore" is the whole screen erased to white, and in the lower corner was the message "transferring data from ad. doubleclick. net. (without the spaces, of course). It sat there with a white screen apparently transferring and transferring (or possibly it was a loop) and I finally got bored with waiting and turned off the site. It happens each time I reach (on my question list) a post titled "Sauna during Menstruation," listed as being in the Women's Health forum, which I really have no interest in answering, but it does that jump to ad.doubleclick when I click "Ignore." I wish I could get the post off my questions list, since I can't erase it.
Hi, Annie,
Thanks for reporting this -- I'll share it with our tech folks and find out what's up.
Claire
Maybe as part of that, if I click on the left-hand "Questions for You" listing instead of the one at the right that gives a number (i.e., "3 new questions are waiting for you!") the left-hand title will often click me to a blank page and the lower notation will say "Done."
